A few years ago, together with my sister, we started a small but very special project in my hometown, Katerini, Greece. We called it the “Magical University”, an initiative designed for elementary schoolkids where the goal was not only to teach knowledge, but to inspire curiosity and imagination.
I had the privilege of teaching Astronomy to young minds who where discovering Universe for the first time. At the end of these lessons, I used to tell them a simple phrase: “In a world full of stars you are never alone, but you are always unique!”.
At the time, these words were meant to inspire children to look at the night sky with wonder. But over years I realized that they carry a much deeper meaning. Being “alone” is not only about the fact that billions of people share this planet with us.
Sometimes life can make us feel truly alone. We may lose someone we love. We may experience disappointment, uncertainty, financial difficulties, or moments we question our own value.
When you look at the stars, remember this: you are part of something much larger than yourself. The same Universe that created galaxies also created you. Among billions of people who have ever lived, there has never been another person exactly like you. You are a story that exists only once in the history of the Universe. You are unique.
The world does not need copies of people. It needs individuals who bring their own perspective, creativity and kindness. Every discovery and every contribution to humanity begins with a unique human being choosing to share something.
So, when life hits you hard, look up. You are not alone. You are always unique.
